Topic: Canon 580ex

So, I just realized that my Canon 580ex (not the II) doesn't have a way to connect to a pocket wizard, or at least not easily.  Which really sucks.  Its a great flash, but its proving difficult to get it off of the camera.  So I am thinking about getting rid of it and getting either the Lumipros or the 580exII.  Would anyone be interested in taking it off my hands?

Re: Canon 580ex

Does it have a PC input?

nah, that's the problem.  It doesn't have any connectors like that.  just a external power connector.

Re: Canon 580ex

@brandonm that is excellent.  Exactly what I need.  Seems a little expensive until you figure on how much I have already paid for the flash.  Have you or anyone else ever bought anything from flashzebra before?

Re: Canon 580ex

Guy I'm taking a class from has things like that, but I don't remember the brand. I can find out on Tuesday...

Re: Canon 580ex

I've heard only great things from Flashzebra.

The guy who runs the site is quick to respond to e-mails. He was telling me about the cable I need for my PW's to trigger my Camera.

I can say the same..... the Vivitar 285's that I use have a bizarre Vivitar-only connection on them, so I checked around and found that Flashzebra sells a custom Vivitar-to-3.5mm cord that can hook them right into my Cybersync radio triggers. They were expensive, but it's an item that you'd have to make yourself otherwise. Also, when I ordered them paypal used the wrong address for me, but the flashzebra guy responded to my email immediately and fixed the order, sent me a nice note also. So I'd definitely recommend them - get some more use out of the 580 flash!
